So how do you  know the realized value of a software tool?  Two ways: 1) Does it get utilized, and what do the users have to say about it? Testimonials 2) What does the actual utilization of the product produce?  Below are additional graphs from actual sites that utilize Doctors Choice documentation software.  These graphs represent reporting periods of 12 months data. Some percentages were rounded up to the closest number for demonstration purposes.  Remember, volume and demographics are variable from site to site.  So your values may vary.  What we did find consistent between  the reporting sites was a strong commitment developing a compliance program, and the subsequent  strict coding and billing practices. This practice meant that before Doctors Choice documentation software was utilized many charts were down coded, or not billed for at all.   The final product that the software solutions creates is a point of care record that is in a standardized format, is completely legible, and easily archived for fast retrieval.  This final record is coding more efficiently when coded by hand, or is rapidly coded by automated coding services.
