nursing records

electronic medical records systems, EMR, patient record, documentation, ED

The top line of buttons starting with the HELP button on the left represents nursing documentation selections..  The color coding on the above screen is as follows:

Press the Course Button to see main nursing documentation screen

1-Gray shading indicates nursing treatment or documentation  has begun, and patient is awaiting physician interaction.
2-Lite blue indicates a physician has seen the patient and has begun documentation, but the record is in suspended mode awaiting additional disposition input.
3-Yellow (which is not present above) would indicate that a resident, student, of P.A. has seen the patient and documented the patient, but the record can't be printed until an attending note has been added.
4-Dark blue indicates the currently selected patient of interest
5-Red lettering indicates that a patient has been seen before and has an archived Emergency Department record available in the archive.

To view a Nursing selection click on the buttons above.  In a system with a fully active system, all buttons will be active.  For the sake of time with graphics loading, this demonstration may not have all buttons active, or may only show partial screen shots.  The demonstration will make an effort to show the ease in which screens may be accessed and documentation provided by even novice users.  The Nursing module has been developed with the knowledge that Emergency Department staffing exhibits a high turnover, and sometimes encompasses part-time nursing agency fill ins.  The navigation has been simplified to enable a user to utilize the system with  minimal introduction that should take no more than 20-30 minutes.  This introduction can occur prior to first shift, via the www.ERCHOICE.com website, or by viewing the training CD which each facility administrator will have available for home utilization.

HINT:  When familiarizing yourself with the multiple screens, spend some free time after creating a fictitious patient on the Patient Registration selection,  clicking through the screens and observing all the different choices that make this system the most complete and unique system available today.
