Over 300 discharge instructions exist in the database based on diagnosis or chief complaints.  The patient database keeps track of what discharge instructions were given to which patient. This way, if you choose to instruct the patient on additional findings such as borderline hypertension, you have proof that you gave the patient the appropriate information.

The white field represents the selected area above it. In this case the description.  Clicking each selection above brings up the text field for that instruction criteria.  A red line beneath the selection identifies a field with included text.  No red line, means no info is included currently. Each individual physician may modify any or all text in any given field to suit their own style of patient education, then the instruction may be saved in their own user archive for future use with any other patient. Physicians may also share their discharge instructions with other physicians that are new to the system, or a hospital may choose to implement a standard form for each disease or complaint.

Discharge instructions have the full name and office / contact information included on the printed copy, as well as the inclusion of what medications were prescribed. For specific hospitals, the hospital logo is included at the top of the discharge instruction.
