The archive selection enables the user to enter the archive for one of several reasons:

• Printing an additional copy of the medical record
• Adding an addendum to an already archived record
• Adding a corrected copy to the already existing original
• Viewing an archived visit
• Viewing archived nursing notes

Once the original medical record is printed, the archived copy of it cannot be altered.  Amended or corrected copies are simply added as additional entries into the database.
